What Apple showed at WWDC 2024: Apple Intelligence, smarter Siri, and the new iOS 18

The main highlight of the event was the presentation of the new artificial intelligence - Apple Intelligence. However, there was a lot to see besides it. Apple presented interesting chips of the new iOS 18, iPad OS 18 and macOS Sequoia.

First up, Apple announced the second version of VisionOS, the operating system for its Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. It was a highlight at last year's WWDC, but has now unveiled minor, albeit welcome, updates. Here are just a few of the innovations:

In the Photos app, you can now convert any photo into a spatial image. In addition, a SharePlay feature has been added to share photos, videos, and panoramas during a call where all participants use Vision Pro.
The Virtual Display feature has been updated. The screen of a connected Mac can now be expanded to a widescreen display. Apple claims such a display is equivalent to two 4K monitors side by side.
Spatial videos will be able to edit in Final Cut Pro. It has also become known that a special lens will be available for Canon cameras to capture immersive video for Apple Vision Pro.
The headset will be available in new countries (June 28 in China, Japan, and Singapore, and July 12 in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the UK).
